Museum Update - July 2011

 Members’ Update - July 2011

All the structural work on the Fleet Canuck has been signed off. The aircraft is in storage until September when the work on covering the fuselage and wing with fabric will start.

The Waco INF has been painted compliments of Dave Christian at Aero Tech Graphics. Sherwin-Williams Canada has provided the aviation paint as a donation to the Museum. A special logo will be created and applied to the aircraft as a visual reminder of their generosity.

Blues Over the Valley was held May 14th and was a resounding success. Tables have already been reserved for the 2012 event.

In June we hosted a Hot Rod club. Members of the club had their pictures taken beside the Harvard.

On June 26 we had a photo shoot at the Museum for students at a photography workshop. Models posed in front of the Museum aircraft.

The COPA Annual Convention was held at Langley Airport on June 24. The Museum will receive an honorarium to cover the cost of the fuel used in the flying displays by the Harvard, Tiger Moth and Fleet Finch.

Members' Day has been changed to September 24th due to a conflict of dates. September 17 is the Battle of Britain memorial event at Boundary Bay Airport.
