The 2012 Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Museum of Flight was held at the Museum on April 28, 2012. A delicious buffet meal, prepared by Museum volunteers, was provided. This was followed by the business meeting.
About 50 Members were present ensuring a quorum for the meeting. The President’s Report was given by Gord Wintrup outlining the past year’s achievements and the future hopes for a new facility for the Museum at Langley Airport.
Director, Vic Bentley provided the Directors’ Year End Report giving details of Museum events; progress on restoration efforts to the Waco INF and Fleet Canuck; progress of the inventory at the barn and Hangar 30; Members’ Day activities, the fund-raising Auction, and other activities by volunteers.

The Museum’s Financial Report was presented by Director, Inder Matharu. Even though there were many challenges, the Museum’s financial position is in a stable condition.
A framed photograph of the Museum Harvard was presented to retiring Director, Matt Offer. Matt had been a Director for many years and had also served a term as President of the Museum.

The election of officers was conducted to replace retiring directors, Matt Offer and Daryl Carpenter. Present Board members Bruce Friesen and Vic Bentley were running for a further term. Three additional Members offered themselves as candidates for the Director position; Chris Ryan, Mike Luedey and Damien Lawson. The election was held with Chris Ryan and Mike Luedey being elected to the position of Director.

After the election, the Director’s met and the positions for the Board were announced; Bruce Bakker, President; Bruce Friesen, Vice-President, Vic Bentley, Secretary; Inder Matharu, Treasurer.
